Moccasin Creek Hatchery

Public Notice: Moccasin Creek Hatchery will be closed to public visitation during construction conducted by San Francisco Public Utility Commission. The scheduled work is remediation for damages from the local flood event that occurred in 2018. For public safety, the hatchery is closed to public visitation beginning August 5, 2019. Completion of the work is estimated by beginning of December, after which public access will again be granted. Moccasin Hatchery will continue to grow fish throughout this period.

At the intersection of highways 120 and 49, Moccasin Creek Hatchery is a trout hatchery in the Mother Lode foothill region of the western Sierra Nevada range. Don Pedro Reservoir is minutes away, as well as the Red Hills Interpretive Trail. Yosemite National Park is about 1 hour east of this visitor-friendly fish hatchery.
