California Commercial Pacific Mackerel Landing Receipt Data

California processors of commercial Pacific mackerel landings submit receipts twice a month by law to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) as required by Fish and Game Code Section 8046. Receipts contain catch location (by CDFW blocks) and catch information (in pounds landed) for each landing. Catch data (in metric tons) have been mapped by CDFW block and fishing season from the 2000-2001 season to the 2012-2015 season. A table of California commercial landings and harvest guidelines (in metric tons) for the West Coast of the United States, and California ex-vessel value corresponding to each season, is included here.

Note: No confidential commercial Pacific mackerel landings data is included here. Vessel activity was not disclosed where fewer than three vessels set per block, per year. Some years may appear to contain no data to protect the confidentiality of vessel location information.
